Welcome to Mechawood! Our goal is to provide a more environmentally friendly option in the radio-controlled realm. 

The idea behind our designs is to consider the disposal of the car’s components once they have reached their end-of-life cycle and work within these limitations to develop a functioning RC car.  Over ninety-five percent of the mechanical components of the car are sourced from either totally renewable, or highly recycled materials - those mainly being hardwood maple, softer birch wood, and metal (Mild and Stainless Steel) fasteners and drive components. 

The other important aspect of the wooden car is its appearance.  Many RC cars are developed with the sole purpose of obtaining the highest speed, fastest acceleration, smoothest ride, or some other performance factor that a wooden car simply can’t match.  The car was designed around what we call “functional aesthetics” - or built in a way to look as elegant as possible while maintaining a high a degree of functionality.  Not only does the wooden car perform as a reliable RC vehicle, but it will look good enough to be displayed above your mantle or on your coffee table.  The openness of the design will intrigue many who are curious as to how the various innards of a car may work and it won’t disappoint to fuel many conversations in your home.
