Meet Acorn Mini - our newest member into the Mechawood family! Smaller and more compact, the Acorn Mini benefits from an entire shift in design architecture - leading to a more robust chassis and suspension system which is easier and quicker to assemble.
Made from natural hardwood maple sourced right here in North America, we can confidently boast that our radio controlled cars are the most environmentally friendly in the world!
The Acorn Mini isn’t a typical car - and with it you’ll discover that not only is the vehicle beautiful to look at, but it also packs in a ton of functionality. The vehicle has a full front and rear independent suspension complete with a rear differential and floating drive shafts - allowing it to both power over rough terrain and handle high speed turns with little fuss. A front bumper shields the car from impacts and the steering system is even protected with a compact and efficient all-wooden servo saver. The car can run off of two types of batteries (8 cell NiMh or 3 cell Lipo), and the high torque brush-less motor can catapult the car to speeds in excess of 20 miles per hour.
The result is a truly unique experience; not only is the Acorn Mini museum ready, but also highly capable on any surface you put it on. We’re excited to share our work with you, and we hope it inspires others to take note that if designed correctly, we can make some amazing things with our basic & natural resources.

Our team of engineers has worked tirelessly to design a car that is not only easy to put together, but will distort your perception of what to expect from anything made of wood. We’re proud of our work, and you’ll be hard pressed to find anything that is remotely like this kit.
